The Rice Federalist Society offers a wide range of opportunities to its members. We currently have three main levels of involvement with the organization.
- We host three events per semester wherein we bring prestigious lawyers, politicians and other experts to discuss legal matters and current events in a non-partisan manner. These events are not only informative, but are also excellent opportunities to meet people in the legal profession.
- Our bi-weekly reading group meets to discuss passages from the Federalists Papers and other founding documents. We analyze the literature and examine how it applies to current events in animated, yet civil, discussion.
- Finally, you can become an officer! Officers lead and guide the club and are working to grow the society each semester. We always welcome ideas and feedback.
The Rice FedSoc also acts as a Pre-Law society at Rice University. Nationally, the Federalist Society is a prestigious and respected organization, with members on the Supreme Court and in the most respected law offices. At Rice, we use this extensive network to provide support for students interested in Law and Public Policy and to help guide them as they look at options after Rice.
